English cream golden retriever

The golden retrievers are pet dogs that originally came from Scotland. They were bred as hunting dogs. In our present days, there are American, English and Canadian retrievers as well.  They got the name retriever because of their ability to find and bring a hunt safely during each hunting session. The golden retrievers are dogs that have long and shiny coats. The coats come in different colours providing them with very good looks worth admiring.

Sometimes the English cream golden retrievers are also known as the white golden retrievers. The retrievers are also used as search and rescue dogs, guide dogs and as assistance dogs for the disable.

The English cream golden retrievers are commonly known as Golden retrievers almost everywhere. These golden retrievers are sometimes referred to as white English golden retrievers because they come in white coats as well.

How the English golden retriever characteristics and behaviours

  • The English golden retrievers are quite social dogs. They easily get along with the family members and are especially good with the kids.
  • They are easy to train. This is because they are extremely smart dogs and are always ready to please their owners.
  • The golden retrievers are quite active dogs. They require regular exercises perhaps daily walks or an outdoor activity. With all these super hyper character, they are actually calm indoor, but if kept locked inside for long periods they may develop anxiety and stress hence losing all the calmness.
  • The golden retrievers shed but not a lot. They start shedding mostly in the spring and fall seasons. During these seasons, it is important to brush them regularly, about two to three times a week. They need a regular bath as well. This way they will keep a healthy and shiny coat.
  • They are loyal dogs that will never disappoint.


Unfortunately, the golden retrievers are prone to diseases such as cancer. The others include hip dysplasia, elbow dysplasia and hypothyroidism. That is why it is important to know the health history of the dog you are willing to buy from the breeder. Regular checkups to the veterinarian are necessary as well. This way, you will be able to keep track of the golden retriever’s health and prolong its life span. Their life span is normally about 12 years.


How to feed a golden retriever

The golden retrievers need to be fed well enough in order for them to grow healthy. They need about two meals a day and three for the puppies. Either homemade food or dry dog foods would do as long as all the necessary nutrients are provided. It is helpful to consult a veterinarian on how to feed the golden retriever or prepare a diet schedule for better feeding.

To conclude, the golden retrievers are huge on the outside and kind of look tough as well. But they are extremely friendly, kind and beautiful dogs. In other words, they are just simply great dogs to have around as pets.
